Help fight food waste in Palo Alto

Every year almost $1 Billion is spent on pumpkins in the US around Halloween. A vast majority of these end up being thrown away. We strive to recover uncarved pumpkins for food. If you do not plan to eat the pumpkins at home, consider donating them so others might be able to.

In 2022, we donated 700lbs of food for consumption through Ecumenical Hunger Program East Palo Alto. We’d like to thank all the donors and to WebbRanch for their generosity.

In 2023, we expanded and scaled this program, with generous donations from farms in the Bay area with distribution through Second Harvest of Silicon Valley. We collected over 15,000 lbs of nutrient rich resilient and delicious pumpkins.

In 2024, we continued to work with our amazing partner farms around the Bay Area to distribute through Second Harvest of Silicon Valley. We collected over 12,500 lbs of delicious pumpkins. Thanks to Village Harvest for supporting this effort!

We look forward to continuing this next year…If you’d like to volunteer, please reach out!
